    The village

Bolnhurst is recorded in the Domesday Book of 1086, and its name comes from the Old English for a wooded hill where bulls were kept. The village grew up along the main road between Bedford and Kimbolton, and since 1934 it has shared a civil parish with Keysoe. St Dunstan's Church, Grade II* listed, stands a little south west of the village; its chancel dates from the thirteenth century, and inside are a medieval wall painting of St Christopher and monuments to the Francklin family. The Plough, a Grade II listed seventeenth century building, is the village pub, and the Bolnhurst Vintage and Country Fayre has been held every year since 1984.

So few sell each year that a village average would move wildly and mean little. Each home is valued on its own merits and against comparable sales across the villages north of Bedford.
