The village
Lidlington is recorded in the Domesday Book, when it belonged to the Abbess of Barking, and like many villages nearby it was later part of the Duke of Bedford's estate. Its Gothic style church was built by the Duke in 1845, and today a single congregation of Anglicans, Baptists and Methodists worships there. The village has a thatched pub on the High Street, a village hall and a general store, and the parish includes the hamlets of Boughton End and Thrupp End.
The Greensand Ridge Walk passes close to the village, and Brogborough Lake on its edge is used for birdwatching, fishing, windsurfing and paddleboarding.
