    The village

Odell has been farmed since before the Roman invasion and is recorded in the Domesday Book. All Saints' Church dates from the fifteenth century, built of limestone from Northamptonshire, and Peter Bulkeley, its rector from 1624, went on to found Concord, Massachusetts. The pub on the green stands against the wall of Odell Castle.

Between Odell and Harrold, flooded gravel pits became Harrold Odell Country Park in the early 1980s, with lakes, river meadows and waterfowl a short walk from the village.

    Homes and prices

Homes in Odell are mostly stone cottages, period houses and a small number of larger country homes. Very few come to the market, and the average price of the handful sold over the year to July 2026 was around £1,225,000, according to HM Land Registry. With so few sales, each home is valued on its own merits and against the best of the wider north Bedfordshire market.
